I am an eternal optimist. So while I know that we are in an economic recession and that we are being pulled every which way by higher fuel prices, rising food costs, and pricier raw materials that go into the products we sell, we will still survive. We will try to keep the retail costs of products as low as we can and our classes will not go up in price at this time. If you are traveling less into the city, we hope that you will choose to entertain more at home and buy the products that you need to cook, bake and serve with from us.

Instead of going miles away for entertainment, perhaps you will attend our classes and have fun in our local intimate cooking school setting. We have been a fixture in this community for over 24 years and we know that we have the support of our customers who have always been loyal to us.
Our classes this summer and for early fall feature many menus and themes centered around entertaining. In addition to grilling classes, we have one on smoking foods with Tim McGrath. We have several classes with Mediterranean menus that encourage healthy eating. I just returned from a cruise to the Mediterranean and found the food there as good as ever, but very expensive.
We are offering intensive 3 part workshops on Seafood, Poultry and Cheese. In addition, there are many single subject workshops listed throughout the schedule. We have lots of camps for teens and a new week-long camp for 6-10 year olds. Our Basic Baking and Basic Techniques continue to be some of our most popular classes. Authors and chefs coming include: Joyce Goldstein from San Francisco, Rick Rodgers from New Jersey, Chef Sam Choy from Hawaii, Nick Malgieri from New York and Giuliano Hazan from Florida.
