Winter - Spring 2010
This year is off to a good start. Enrollment in classes is up and I am hopeful that sales in the store will improve too. After a very rocky 2009, we are still here to celebrate our 26th anniversary March 15, and thank you, our loyal customers for all your support.
Change, of course is part of life and sometimes we need to accept it as a positive sign even though we don’t ask for it. We have been fortunate to have Cecilia de Castro as our Professional Course instructor for the past 22 years and are sorry to see her leave the program. We will miss her extraordinary talent as a teacher and mentor, but wish her all the best with her new endeavor. Our new course instructor is Tim McGrath who is well qualified for the job. With over 30 years of experience as a chef, caterer and teacher he will help us to maintain our standards as a culinary school and personal integrity with the students. We look forward to the next chapter!
Technology is also a part of change and we hope to do more this year to compete on the internet with an improved online store selection of merchandise as well as more presence through blogging and social networking. It is truly a brave new world! We welcome your feedback and suggestions for future classes and projects. Meanwhile, look through our schedule and sign up for all your favorite classes before they sell out.
Best,
Phyllis and Staff
